We Made It!!

Guess what?! Yesterday this blog reached 100 followers!! YAY! I'm so excited. I never thought that I would make it to 100. When I first started I was happy with 13 followers and now there are 100 of you! You are the ones that make blogging worth while. I love reading your comments and I do read every single one. As a thank you I will be having a giveaway and it will be up as soon as I get everything sorted out, so stay tuned!
In the mean time, I'm going to show something I received in the mail a couple weeks ago: OPI Gold Shatter

I put it over one coat of OPI Teasy Does It from the Burlesque collection. I hadn't worn this before and I have no idea why not. It is gorgeous!!

Here it is with the gold shatter over the top. Gold Shatter is very similar to Silver Shatter in how it is almost glittery. There is so much sparkle this polish is mesmerizing in the sun.

31 Day Challenge Day 10

Okay, so I didn't combine day 9 and 10. I had a plan but changed my mind at the last minute. Day 9 of the challenge is gradient nails. Here is what I came up with

I started with a base of Orly Lollipop then did a sponged gradient using Orly Winter Wonderland. W.W is from Orly's 2010 Christmas collection. I only have a mini bottle and I really wish I had bought the full sized bottle. I wish the same for Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe from the same collection. When they were released I was only just getting into nail art so foolishly only got the minis.

Then I added a bow stamp from fauxnad plate M56 using Orly Frolic as the stamping polish. I went through some of my collection yesterday to figure out which ones were suitable for stamping and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of that worked =)

Pink Holo Pretty-ness!

Today's mani is something I had on a coupe weeks ago using one of the holo polishes I picked up while I was in Auckland. The brand is called Winmax and I got them from a really cheap import shop. The polishes arn't named but this is the pink one.

This is two coats with seche vite. The holo is more pronounced in real life and it is so pretty!

I added a stamp using konad white on fauxnad plate M71

L.O.V.E

This polish is definitely a winner in my book! It's cheap, applies nicely, lasted for a few days without chipping and of course it is holo! The only down side is that they come in such small bottles! I will be stocking up next time I'm in Auckland (which should be around March =D exciting!)

31 Day Challenge Day 8

Day 8 of the 31 Day Challenge is Metallic Nails. I used a polish I hadn't used before for this day of the challenge. It's one of those crappy brands that clothes stores release. This one was from Rubi Shoes and was on special for $2 so I thought I'd give it a try.

This is one coat of Rubi Shoes 'Disco Nights'

It's a slightly brown metallic silver. It went on nicely and the colour was awesome but the polish smelt SO bad!! It didn't smell like normal nail polish brands like OPI or Orly. I can't even describe what it was like haha.

Next for the challenge will be gradient nails and then rainbow nails. I'm thinking I will combine days 9 and 10...maybe...I guess you'll find out soon =P

31 Day Challenge Day 7

Hey everyone! I'm sorry for the lack of posting in the last week. Uni is crazy busy right now but it will hopefully calm down a bit soon.
Today is day 7 of the 31 Day Challenge: Black and White nails. For this I decided to do a zebra in reverse; Black nails with white stripes.

I started off with one coat of Australis Sin City. This is my favourite black polish. It has a purple and green shimmer to it. It is quite subtle but really makes it stand out.

Next came the zebra stripes using white konad stamping polish and plate M57.

P.S. Welcome new followers!! It's great to have you here =D

Holo Goodness!!

Good Morning!! Only 8 more followers to go until I reach 100 followers! Hopefully it will occur around the time of my 100th post! When I reach 100 followers I will be hosting a giveaway! And it will be open internationally! eee!! I'm excited!
Anyway, today I have a gorgeous holo polish to show you. Sally Hansen Blush Diamond

Boootiful!! =P

This is two coats and the photo was taken with the flash on.
This polish is apparently HTF and I can see why! It applied perfectly and is just so pretty! I couldn't help but stare at it while in the sun or any kind of bright light. =)

Color Club- In Bloom

Today's post is taking a wee break from the 31 day challenge and show you one of the polishes I got from my trip: Color Club 'In Bloom'. It is a barbie pink and takes two thick coats to be opaque.

This stamp is from Born Pretty plate M65 with black konad polish. The black tip was done using Sally Hansen french manicure strips and BYS Black Satin

31 Day Challenge Day 6

Today is the last day of solid colour for the challenge. It also happens to be my favourite colour: Purple. I'm using Orly Frolic. This is one that I got a couple of weeks ago and showed in my haul post (here).

Two coats

I added some stamping to this one using black konad polish. I don't have my plates with me right now so can't say which plate I used but will update this post soon =)

31 Day Challenge Day 5

Hey everyone. I hope you're all having a great weekend! Today for the challenge I have one of my favourite blue polishes: Australis Sky High. This is a pale blue creme polish and I always get a lot of comments when I wear it, even without any art.

I think this was only one coat. The formula is great and it is super easy to apply with it's wide brush.

Preettttyyy!  =P

31 Day Challenge Day 4

Day 4 of the challenge is green! I was going to show Orly Here Comes Trouble but my photos came out weird. Around the edges it looked yellow/orange even though it wasn't in reality. So instead of mediocre photos of a polish that deserves better I'm going to be showing a polish I received in the mail yesterday. That's right! More nail mail =D I ordered OPI Pink Shatter, Gold Shatter and Pair 'Em Scare 'Em duo which comes with Black Shatter and Zom-body To Love (Glow in the dark =D)

This is two coats of Zom-body To Love over one coat of BYS Matte White. Z.T.L is very sheer so I layered over white to avoid VNL.

Gloooooow!!

Here it is with OPI Black Shatter. It looks awesome in the dark with the shatter over it. I had a hard time photographing it though . I'll keep trying.

This really is the perfect easy look for Halloween =)
Tomorrow for the challenge will be blue and I'm showing one of my all time favourite polishes!
thanks for reading

31 Day Challenge Day 3

Hey guys, I only have ten minutes to post this before my next lecture. Today for the challenge is yellow nails so I picked my favourite yellow polish: Orly Lemonade. It is also coincidentally, the only yellow I own =P

This is two coats. Lemonade is a creme polish and is one of my favourites for water marbling!!

31 Day Challenge Day 2

Today for the 31 Day Challenge I'll be showing an orange polish. The one I have chosen is OPI Bright Lights..Big Colour. I really like this polish which is unusual because, like red, I'm not much of a fan of orange.

This is two coats with no top coat

I like how this polish has a subtle green shimmer to it. It's a win in my book =)
Tomorrow is yellow! I'm finding the plain colours to be a tad boring right now. Once day 10 comes along this challenge will get much more interesting =)
Stay tuned!

31 Day Challenge Day 1

Woo! Day One! Here we go
The first on the list is red. I am not a fan of red at all. The only red I like in the slightest is OPI Bogota Blackberry which I have already shown on my blog here. So instead of showing the same thing I chose a polish my mum gave me last week; OPI The One That Got Away from the Katy Perry Collection and the last one I needed to complete the collection.

It's a dark berry red with pink glass flecks. This was two coats. I find that all the shimmer settles on the bottom of the bottle though  so isn't as shimmery as it could be. I'm not that much of a fan of this colour. It is most definitely my least favourite from the collection but I like that I now have them all.
Tomorrow for the challenge I'll be showing an orange polish so stay tuned! =)

I Can Post Again! YAY (pic heavy)

I have access to the internet again! yay! I've really missed blogging. More than I thought I would anyway. I have so much to share so lets get straight to it.
To start off I'm going to show you what I got while in Auckland:
I found a selection of nail decals and got three different types

These are three plastic pots with twist lids. Inside there is glitter, lilac stars and purple holo hearts

I also found some holo polishes by Winmax. Unfortunately the colours aren't named. I got one dark pink, two browny purple and one silver. The polish on the right is not a holo but is still super pretty. It's like a blue version of OPI Princesses Rule!

Then I found these Color Club minis. Color Club is not a very common brand in NZ so I was excited to find these and even more excited that they were half price =)
Left to right: In Bloom, Sakura Glow and Strawberry Candle. IRL Strawberry Candle is more pink than orange.
That's it for polish related purchases. I bought a couple other things too. Overall I had a good time even though I only had one full day there. It was nice to get away and have a bit of a break from uni.

Next up is nail mail!

Nubar Prize and Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Blush Diamond. I bought these two off trade me but when Blush Diamond arrived the bottle was only two thirds full even though the auction said the bottle was brand new/never been used. So I emailed the seller and she sent me another one free of charge. I was really impressed with how she handled it. To be honest I wasn't even expecting to get a reply to my email so it all worked out really well =)

I have been out of Seche Vite for months now and it's been killing me!! It is not available in stores here so the only way to get it is to order it online or wait for some to come up on trade me. I was so excited when I found the auction so I bought two bottles. The world is good again!! lol

And finally, Orly Frolic and Frisky from the Happy Go Lucky Collection. I'm contemplating getting Flirty from that collection too. I have Frolic on my nails at the moment and I love it!!! Its such a different purple to anything I have in my collection. You'll be able to see what I did with it in a couple days because I did it for the 31 day challenge. The first post for the challenge will be up later on today because I think that this post is quite long enough =P

So there ya have it. One week and 14 bottles of nail polish. Hmm.. Hopefully this week my OPI Pink and Gold Shatter will arrive!!
Thanks for reading =D
